Symptoms

If you are on a corporate/business domain, it is likely that the Crystal Delivery Service does not have the required permissions to access the mapped folder/file share that you're using to store the report files (.rpt)

Solution

You can resolve the permission issue by giving your computer write permission to the shared mapped folder.

These instructions explain how to add required file share permissions.  This solution is most reliable as it is not affected by user password changes.

Solution Steps

• Right-click Your File Share folder > Click Properties
• Click Sharing tab
• Click Advanced Sharing button
• Click Permissions button
• Click Add button
• Click Object Types button
• Check Computers Object Type
• Click OK
• Enter computer name with a trailing dollar sign ($) at the end:
  Example:  YOUR-COMPUTER$ 
  or
  How to find your computer name:

  1. Find your computer name by going to Start > Run 2. Type cmd 3. Type hostname into the black command window 4. Press Enter 5. Copy this hostname value with a trailing dollar-sign ($) into the dialog window

  
  

• Click OK

• Under the Allow column > Check Full Control

• Click Apply > Click OK > Click OK

• Click Close
