Crystal Delivery Requirements - Give to IT Team
This product loads Crystal Report (.rpt) files and exports various files (like PDFs) from various folders of the user's choosing, which often includes mapped / shared drives for which the user has read/write permissions to. The Crystal Delivery Service is a component that runs as a Windows Service and needs read/write permissions to the same mapped / shared drives the user does. The best way to do this on a corporate domain is to create a service account for the Crystal Delivery Service to use and ensure this service account also has read/write permissions to the user's mapped / shared locations.
- Service Account or User Permissions
- On the machine (server) that Crystal Delivery Pro is installed, you will need the ability to run the "Crystal Delivery Service" using the "Logon As" feature which is available via the service properties.
- Use either your domain user or the service user account created by IT in the "Logon As" area.
- Note: if you receive a permission popup here, work with your Local IT to gain proper domain permissions.

- ODBC Data Sources
- For Crystal Delivery to be able to load the required data from the database, your machine (server) must have the same (matching) ODBC Data Sources used to create the reports.
- (e.g. for data to be loaded, the database connection must exist on the machine)
- Must use ODBC Data Source Administrator (32-bit) to configure the required database connections
- Note: if you are not able to set up this connection on the server due to an "SSL Error", this is likely due to domain permissions.
